Historical parade in costume in honor of Maria SS. Corsignano

Since 1967, the Pro Loco of Giovinazzo organizing this spectacular event that attracts hundreds of tourists, even from neighboring countries. The procession recalls two events related to the history of the sacred icon giovinazzese: the translation of the painting from the Holy Land in Giovinazzo and the miracle of rain after a long period of drought. The first part of the parade commemorates the translation of the framework occurred in 1667 and is represented by the nobles of the country in state robes Baroque. The second part recalls the drought of 1188 and it is represented in more poor and simple. The procession ends with the picture of the Virgin carried by the representatives of the various working class who return to the cathedral.
