ANZANO DI PUGLIA Foggia (Puglia)
Art and culture, Food and wine
The town has got ancient origins. Its name comes from the proper name “Antius”. A first village was built in late Middle Ages on the ruins of a Roman settlement. It was part of the Avellino (Campania) province, but is definitely part of Foggia province since 1930.
Anzano di Puglia is located on 760 meters above sea level, on the border between Apulia and Campania. Because of lots of earthquakes occurring over the years, the town doesn’t have a real historic centre, but it took a very modern form thanks to the different rebuildings it was subjected to. However this is the ideal destination for those who want to spend a relaxing holiday, surrounded by nature and healthy air. In fact nowadays Anzano di Puglia is aiming for “green tourism”.
