Clear sea, golden beaches, rocky bays, marine grottoes and delicious food: this is Vieste. It stands in the northern Garagano promontory and it is one of the favourite destinations of tourists coming in Apulia thanks to its sandy beaches and excellent accommodations (in fact it received the FEE Blue Flag award). “Pizzomunno” is the symbol of the city: it is a 25 meters limestone pinnacle standing isolated few meters off the mainland. Walking around the historic centre is a pleasant experience especially in summertime because the whitewashed alleyways, thanks to  the handcrafts shops, restaurants and cafés, offer a lively atmosphere, in the morning as late at night. The town is also significant for some buildings as the Castle, ordered by Frederick II, and the Cathedral with its typical Apulia Romanesque style. Vieste it’s the perfect destination for sport-lovers: it is part of the Gargano National Park where you can go trekking, biking, horse-riding following various paths; for water-sports-lovers Vieste’s windswept coast offers facilities for surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. From the fully-equipped tourist harbour it is possible to reach the wonderful Tremiti Islands and Croatia as well.
