The trulli houses Antiche Dimore are situated in the town of Ceglie Messapica (art town and land of gastronomy), in the quarter called Angelo di Maglie; they were built in about1780. Originally the trulli houses were the country houses of the farmers who used them also as tool sheds and barns for the cattle.They have been renovated in accordance with the traditional rules; local builders called ‘trullari’ have worked to recreate the original structure.
There’s a group of three trulli houses, detached one from the other to guarantee the independence and peace of the guests, surrounded by a park of 6 acres of secular olive trees mixed with several types of fruit trees (walnuts, cherries, almonds, chestnuts).

The landscape that surrounds the trulli houses is a rare beauty: from here you can admire a green valley of olive-trees and far away you see some white houses… Ostuni, “the white town†is only 7 miles away. The wonderful geographical position makes this place the perfect starting-point for those who want to do some trekking or make relaxing naturalistic, cultural or enogastronomical trips.
The Adriatic Coast and its wonderful beaches are only 11 miles away, Fasano and its zoo safari 16 miles, Alberobello, the town of the trulli houses 18 miles; the fantastic caves of Castellana 29 miles. There’s also Cisternino (6 miles) to try the great grilled meat in one of its “fornelliâ€, Martina Franca (9 miles) and its charming old town, Locorotondo (13 miles), Brindisi (26 miles), Lecce (50 miles), the town with baroque marks that’s on the list to become a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Otranto (77 miles) and its marvellous landscapes, Santa Maria di Leuca (97 miles) called “finibus terraeâ€, Gallipoli (75 miles), Manduria (22 miles), Taranto (25 miles), Grottaglie (12 miles) and its world-famous pottery.
