Torre Maizza farm is located in the middle of a large hillside estate overlooking the Mediterranean, 1,5 km from the coast.The ancient farm is set in a grove of age-old olive trees: guests can enjoy strolls through our orchards, vineyards, fields and crops, where the air is scented with heady myrtle and delicate jasmine that, mingling, create our estate’s typical Mediterranean fragrance.
Torre Maizza is an ancient garrison, part of a defence line that crossed all Apulia, from Gargano promontory to “finibus terrae”, as Santa Maria di Leuca was called.
During the XVI century, Torre Maizza used to be a watchtower against the raids of Ottoman and Saracen Turks; later on it became a working farm with a little village: you can still recognize the old Mill, the houses for the farm workers and courtyards which were used to tender animals.
Now Torre Maizza has been converted into a refined, luxury 5-stars resort.
The local traditional hospitality, which once was extended to pilgrims and Benedictine monks, is now offered to our guests: an intense experience in a discreetly-scented land of ancient customs.

THE RESTAURANT
In the XVI century the cows’ stables were located where now there is the famous and creative Ristorante delle Palme.
“The pleasures of the table” are important to us: our restaurant features a paralleled sensorial experience. The view is on the pool surrounded by the ancient columns and walls and by the ancient orange grove with its the scent is of orange blossoms.
The Mediterranean cuisine is the star: a combination of tradition, creativity and attention to details in a menu which includes a selection of the most genuine ingredients from our own organic fields.
The cuisine at the Masseria is creative but still regional: we try joining Apulian traditional dishes with new tastes following the philosophy of Natural Fresh and Light Cuisine.
Our restaurant uses products from our organic farm such as vegetables, fruits, olive oil, almonds, figs, prickly pears, grape etc. we also produce our own hams, mozzarella cheese and pasta.
Moreover we rear in our farm rabbits, geese, ducks, pheasant, chickens (the eggs are used for breakfast in the morning) and our boat fishes fresh fish and seafood.
Our pastry chef in house is also responsible for a wide selection of local desserts and wonderful jams and pastries for breakfast.
In summer time we prepare Pizza and Calzone in our own 500 years old Firewood Oven.

By Car: The best way, to get to our Masseria from BARI , is the free-way SS16 direction BARI/BRINDISI, following this way for about 50 Kms., then take the exit SAVELLETRI-FASANO STAZIONE (Centro Commerciale), Following this road ( at the 2 roundabouts straight on) for about 3 Km. you will find a crossroad, You have turn left following Masseria’s sign, then 600 m. on the right you will find the entrance of the Masseria
The same is from the Brindisi airport, take the free-way SS379 (the same of 16, just change name) direction BARI, following this way for about 50 Kms., then take the only exit, after Torre Canne exit SAVELLETRI-Centro Commerciale. Following this road for about 3 Km. you will find a crossroad, You have turn left following Masseria Torre Maizza’s sign, then 600 m. on the left you will find the entrance of our house.
